Is that a safe way to remove sensitive information

I’ve been using the erase function from the paint tools in Acrobat DC. Then I appy a black bar over the empty space.

the final document is a jpeg inside a pdf.

Is that a safe way to remove sensitive information without the redact tool available only in the Adobe Pro?
