Are there any free programs to open PDFs and highlight, and edit the document (type words) and cross out answers?

I’m looking to practice passages and cross out answers, type words and highlight. However, I’m not willing to pay anything for it. Any advice?

Is there a good software for splitting and batch renaming? via /r/pdf


Is there a good software for splitting and batch renaming?

I currently have about 100-200 papers a day. Scanning 1-10 pages at a time and naming them on a slow scanner that responds to keys kind of slowly…

I use ilovepdf at the moment, but it doesn’t have a renaming or a good viewing option.

Lastly, it needs to be able to preview all the documents. Xodo seems to do an okay job on this, but there is no split option.

Even better would be if I can just highlight the pages and rename them or something.

Anyone know of a pdf editor that does this?

Convert a pdf into a NON-editable word document

I have a PDF textbook of 500 pages.

I want to convert each pdf page as an image into the word document.

The whole point is that I have much more freedom when making notes by adding blank pages when necessary and using all word feautures.

Additionally, word has some useful tools for adding shapes and text boxes on images, which are fine for me.

So, is there any viable solution for converting a pdf into word by converting each page to an image that will fit in the corresponding page?

I had worked with the pdf file when my system crashed due to electricity failure. Then when I tried to open the file, it displays an error message that says “the pdf file is damage”. The file is damaged and cannot be repaired. “I use Adobe Reader. What should I do for this problem?

Stuck with a signature? via /r/pdf


Stuck with a signature?

I recently downloaded Adobe Reader DC in order to fill a PDF form and sign it.

So I blithely added a text signature, but now realize I would like to add an image of my hand written signature.

The problem is the text signature seems to have moved in for good. I can’t delete it, I can’t replace it, even if I go back to the original form, it only offers me the option to add that text signature.

What can I do? I’ve searched for help but it’s all baffling.

How to create multi-page PDF from CSV file and template?

Hello everyone, I hope I finally found “the right sub”. Sorry if I ask question million times answered, I spent whole morning looking for suitable answer but could not find one :-(

What is the case? I do have couple hundred rows CSV file or Excel/txt one if that matters. I need to create PDF file according to some template - it’s specified how it should look, I do have “background” - where every row means new page in that PDF. Take it like a concert flyer where you change date and place and the rest remains the same. So I should end up with PDF that has 200+ pages that differs only in the text imported from table.

I do have access to Acrobat Pro, so I looked in that direction. I found a “guide” on adobe website - https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2069492 - suggesting creation of a form from template and then importing the text file to it. It somewhat works, I can fill a row from my file, but problem is it can fill only one row at a time and I need to save every single page manually. I need it to be somehow automated, because there will be more CSVs to come. Importing the table every single time for 200+ rows is a) monotonous and exhausting and b) it might be faster to simply write it down instead of importing.

Is there any way to do this more elegant? In dream scenario I’d just pick the template, select the CSV and then magic and voila it’s done. It doesn’t need to be done in Acrobat Pro, I’d be glad for any solution. I’m just stuck in dead end. Thank you.

Reading in work..

Hi! I wonder if anyone knows an application to read books in pdf and not being catched in work. A viewer application that takes the text and put it in a different format ( not book sheet-siezd). Thanks in advance!

“cloud” PDF reader?

Is there any PDF/Epub software that will allow me to upload my files that I obtained legit (humble bundle) to them so I can read them on multiple devices without worrying about losing my spot? I bought the networking bundle for work which means I would be reading it at home on my PC, tablet, or at my work computer and right now all I can think of is manually keeping track of what I was doing.

Checking a large number of pdfs via /r/pdf


Checking a large number of pdfs

I’m creating a large number of pdfs in InDesign that need to be checked, currently the fastest method I have found is opening the main folder in Explorer, typing *.pdf into the search bar, selecting them all and hitting Enter to open them all in tabs in Microsoft Edge.

Edge has turned out to be a bit unreliable at times, so I wanted to switch to something else, but for some reason neither Chrome or Firefox will react the same way when I hit enter, same with Adobe Reader, Sumatra and FoxIt Reader.

I came closest with the latter, but each pdf is nested within its own subfolder, which is a dealbreaker for FoxIt apparently.

Hopefully someone here has another suggestion. Thanks.
