This comes up for me on archive.org. You can download texts as either “PDF” or “PDF with text.” What is the difference? They both appear the same.
My primary concern is to be able to highlight the text and export the highlights to make notes about or an outline of the book. Which of the above would best serve that purpose?

If I have to fill out a form that’s in PDF format and I download to my computer and fill it out, how do I save the changes? When I keep clicking save as and replacing the file, it just shows the original file without my work on it.

My C.V. (created in InDesign) becomes as a bit of a mess when automatically converted to plain text. Is there a way to imbed an optimized-for-plain-text version in a PDF (or edit the plain text that’s already imbedded)? Thanks in advance…
P.S. Hope I phrased this OK. I’m self-taught and am sometimes a bit off on my terminology…
Do I have to use Acrobat to convert a pdf into a csv file or are there other ways?

I’m trying to make a condensed PDF file consisting solely of the pages that I’ve bookmarked, and keep the bookmarking hierarchy I have.
I figure it can be done in two ways: print those pages to a new PDF, or make a copy and delete all the non-bookmarked pages. Would there be a command-line solution, perhaps via Ghostscript?
I don’t want to pay a monthly subscription for adobe acrobat … but I would gladly pay something reasonable.
I have several textbooks in PDF format that I’m trying to search, but it takes quite awhile because the reader (and I’ve tried several) has to search the entire document each time for each term. I’ve read that Adobe Acrobat Pro has the ability to create and embed indexed, but I’m a broke student and would prefer not to spend money :\
Are there any other tools for embedding indexes? I’ve tried Index Generator but I can’t figure out how the thing works, and I’m not even sure it’s capable of embedding indexes - it just seems to create separate indexes.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!

I have many PDFs. I want to merge them all into one file.
I don’t want separate PDF pages. I want one continuous page (longer than “letter”)
There’s another thing. Each PDF has some text at the top and then a lot of space until the net page. Before merging all of the pages into one continuous file, I want to crop each of the pages the same way, removing all the space below (and also taking out some of the space at the top and in the margins). How can I do this?

I am at my wits’ end.
I annotated a number of PDFs for school using PaperShip paired to Zotero, which was supposed to sync my annotations to Zotero. Turns out PaperShip isn’t supported anymore. So I’m trying to move my files into another program (Notability), but I can’t find a way to transfer the PDFs with the annotations I made in PaperShip.
Does anyone know how I can retain my annotations and highlights while transferring my files? I know that ‘flattening’ a PDF should do this, but I can’t work out how to do the flattening. I don’t have any good Adobe products— just Adobe Reader’s free junk version.

I have a small (page size a5) booklet. I made a scan of each full page (so page 2-3, 4-5, etc.). Is there any way I can print these files so that it will automatically come out in the format of a booklet that I can fold and staple? I understand how to do this if I have just single sheets, but don’t know if it is possible with two pages per piece of paper.

I’ve got the problem, that I have a bunch of PDF files (mostly magazines and journals, all about 100-300 pages) and some pages have a wrong different size, e.g. all the pages have a regular 210x270mm page format, and then there are some having a wrong 200x255mm page format. So naturally I would like my PDF files Pages to all have the same size. But how can I archive that? I currently have the full version of ‘PDF Expert 2.4’ by Readdle for Mac and of course Macs built-in ‘Preview’, but as far as I can determine, both are not capable of such a task, and the only option would be Adobes 'Acrobat Reader DC for Mac’, which would be great, if you would not have to pay 20$ A MONTH for a premium version with cloud features you don’t even want, to unlock the page resizing feature. So I’m pretty much clueless, and Google didn’t help either, scince everything is just directing you towards the Adobe 20$/month option…
Would be very grateful if someone could help me!

Hi, I hope this is the right place to ask a question like this.
I’ve googled around and can’t find anything about this at all. I opened WPS office for the first time, which came pre-installed on my laptop, on accident today. In doing that, it seems to have converted literally every single one of my regular, usable PDFs into “WPS PDFs” that I can only open in WPS and can only convert to a MS .doc or .docx file instead of back into a normal PDF (the option for PDF/“save as” is there, but it’s greyed out for some reason). I’d like to just uninstall WPS at this point but I’m concerned I won’t be able to open any of my PDFs after that… will they go back to how they were if I uninstall WPS? I email a lot of PDFs and it seems like people without WPS aren’t going to be able to open these.

I have a question about signatures…
So I’m starting a new company and I build the application in with PDF DC Pro and at the end I want to add a signature block for applicants to add a signature but I’m not sure how do to this the best way.
I did add a signature field, but when I test it out clicking it it’s asking for like a file or something to verify my signature…any help would be appreciated I’m a huge noob when it comes to PDF stuff

Hey guys, I have an an textbook for class that scrolls weird. When I get to the bottom of a page it’s like the scrolling halts and then jumps to the next page. I can scroll smoothly up and down the file and I’m not able to ctrl+f on more than one page.
Is this a setting I can tick off or somehow flatten out the pages to achieve what I want? Thanks in advance.
I am having extreme difficulty with the format of a job application that was sent to me as a fillable PDF.
My first issue is that the text doesn’t fall neatly on the lines. It just bunches up causing the pre-existing lines to cut through my text.
My second issue is that on 2 pages of the 7 page document, the text is inverted (typing both upside down and backward).
Through various mediums, I tried to convert the document to docx, but this results in a scramble of foreign characters. I’ve exhausted all resources readily available to me, and am in a serious time crunch to get this resolved. Any help will place you in eternal favor to whichever supreme beings you love and worship!

I have a large library of large PDFs, within which I frequently refer to the same pages over & over again. As an end user, my time is wasted if I have to navigate between those particular pages each time I load one of those documents.
Inexplicably, it seems like Adobe decided to call PDF’s table of contents ‘Bookmarks’ (instead of, you know, “Table of Contents”). What I actually need are user-definable bookmarks, to optimize my navigation.
Can anyone in this sub recommend a reader (online, Linux, or Android) that has this feature? So far I’ve tried Foxit & Kami.

So I’ve been creating a catalog 3 times/year since 2016 in Adobe InDesign. It takes me a whole day to make it. I want to automate some parts of it.
I’ve been googling for a few hours trying to find information but with no luck.
When creating the catalog I get all the information from a bull page. http://bs.altagenetics.com/english/BS/Bull/011HO12240
They have an embedded feature on the website to create pdf. When this is done the text is too small to read, the text is in english and the catalog I create is in swedish. I only put in the most crucial information in the catalog so most info on the bull page is not put in the catalog.
The Question is!
Can I create a PDF Template that download specific values from the website and put them in catalog.
Can I import specific values from the PDF that I get from the website into a PDF template.
